Vanilla is definitely fun as far as quality of the game. The only mod I would ever utilize would maybe be graphics overhaul. So yes, vanilla is worth it.
Yes, vanilla Oblivion is worth it. Spent thousands of hours on PS3 back in the day. Though I'd suggest to use some bug fixing mods, because I'd never forget how some quests would get bugged and so on.
Oblivion is the kind of game that was great the way it was released, so vanilla is definitely worth it. The modding capabilities of the PC just enhance the experience. If you don't want to add any mods, you'll still enjoy the game, most definitely.

8 sie 2008 · Vanilla is often used to describe something as being without modification or altered or "the norm". So vanilla Oblivion is the out of the box game with no mods / additions / tweaks. It is even used to describe a form of sex but that's another story.
