Vanilla is definitely fun as far as quality of the game. The only mod I would ever utilize would maybe be graphics overhaul. So yes, vanilla is worth it.

So I would like to know if the game Vanilla is worth playing (or almost all of it, since I still intend to use the unofficial patches, for obvious reasons and the character overall, as I don't really like potato guys).
I prefer vanilla oblivion over modded Skyrim. The dungeons have depth and the side quests are the best I’ve ever played. It’s worth playing for the dark brotherhood quests alone.

6 maj 2014 · Well, there's no reason NOT to use mods, but vanilla Oblivion can be pretty enjoying, if only because the game hasn't aged extremely well graphically, making npcs look hilariously unncanny at times. Plus, it's still a good game either way.
11 lip 2010 · "Vanilla" is the oblivion game that installs right off of the disk. In other words, it is the original official Bethesda content. Once you start adding fan-created mods, you no longer have a "vanilla" game.
4 wrz 2008 · Vanilla oblivion is a reference to Regular Oblivion WITHOUT mods. Meaning it's "vanilla" or basic. Once you add that first mod, you're no longer playing "vanilla" oblivion. It can also stand for regular Oblivion With it's own content, like SI or Mehrune's Razor.
