The Federal School Code List contains the unique codes assigned by the Department of Education for schools participating in the Title IV federal student aid programs.
If you are completing the FAFSA, you would look up school codes to includes in your FAFSA School List. Beginning with the 2024-2025 FAFSA electronic application, you can list up to 20 schools at one time. If you are filing a paper FAFSA, you can list up to 10 schools.
You can use the Federal School Code Search to search for colleges you're interested in including on your FAFSA ® form. You can also find detailed college information, like tuition and fee amounts and graduation rates, and compare that information for up to 10 colleges at a time.
