Major Requirements. Of the 40 semester hours for the major, no more than 11 hours may be at the 100 level. At least 9 hours must be from courses designated as Experimental Techniques and Data Analyses. A minimum of 9 hours should be at the 300 and/or 400 level.
As a precaution, you should verify your schedule at three key points: prior to the first day of classes, before the add/drop deadline (the end of the second week of classes), and prior to the late-drop deadline (the end of the 10th week of classes).

Minimum course requirements are to have a Math 180 (Calculus I) equivalent course completed. Computer Science Department majors also require a CS 111 (CS I) equivalent course to be completed. Requests to drop a course after the 10th week of the fall and spring semesters (or after the fifth week of the summer session) and requests to exceed the limit of four late drops are not routinely granted unless there are documented exceptional circumstances outside of the student’s control.
To complete the degree, students must take 23 additional hours, including 9 hours in experimental techniques and data analyses and the biological sciences selectives/electives to meet concentration requirements (21–23 hours for EEEB).
