Right click the game in your steam games list and view cd key. Ah, AoW3 doesn't actually work that way - the Steam client doesn't have access to the CD Key. Before you can play it you have to start the launcher, create a Triumph account and register the key through the option on the launcher.

2 maj 2015 · What it comes down to is that you might have the right permissions in place, but as long as that registry is running, that key/value might be locked in place. In order to unlock the registry, I had to use Sysinternals: Process Explorer and Right Click > Suspend the exactable that had the key locked.
I found out that Steam is constantly trying to read the same key without success and doesn't stop, even after hours. I contacted Steam support and followed all the steps proposed by the support guy, but nothing helped.
