Literacy Chicago's adult literacy program provides a safe and comfortable place for adults to learn to read. We strive to put students at ease and increase their confidence. Our teachers lead weekly classes, each with their own unique style.
InSTEM (Inspiring STEM in Girls) is a three-week program that builds on the fundamentals of the Young People’s Project (YPP) for mathematics literacy. The purpose of the InSTEM program is to provide middle school girls, in low-income Chicago Public Schools (CPS), unique opportunities to engage in STEM activities.
About - Literacy Chicago. Serving Adults Since 1968. In 1968, two organizations, Literacy Volunteers of Chicago and Literacy Council of Chicago, were created to address the literacy and language needs of Chicago adults. These two dynamic groups merged in 1992 to establish Literacy Chicago.
