Moderate or severe food insecurity rose steadily from 23.2 percent in 2020 to 26.8 percent in 2023, with a 2.7 percentage-point increase in the last year alone. The prevalence of severe food insecurity also increased marginally in the last year, from 9.3 percent in 2022 to 10.4 percent in 2023.
