These nutrients enhance crop production but can also be lost from agricultural soil to groundwater, surface water and air, contributing to environmental pollution. In 2021 total fertiliser sales increased by 6%.
22 lis 2023 · Total fertiliser sales in 2023 have fallen by 18% to 1,135,860 tonnes compared to 2022, according to new data from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM). This marks a 33% reduction in fertiliser sales since 2021. Nitrogen sales have dropped by 18% to 280,569 tonnes.
