17 mar 2021 · Acute cholecystitis refers to the acute inflammation of the gallbladder. It is the primary complication of cholelithiasis and the most common cause of acute pain in the right upper quadrant (RUQ).
The CT features of acute cholecystitis include gallstones, thickening of the gallbladder wall, pericholecystic fluid, stranding of the pericholecystic fat, high-attenuation bile, and blurring of the interface between the gallbladder and the liver (Figs. 4,5,6A, 6B).
