A food web diagram illustrates ‘what eats what’ in a particular habitat. Pictures represent the organisms that make up the food web, and their feeding relationships are typically shown with arrows.
Eels begin life as flat and transparent larvae, called leptocephali. Eel larvae drift in the sea's surface waters, feeding on marine snow, small particles that float in the water. Eel larvae then metamorphose into glass eels and become elvers before finally seeking out their juvenile and adult habitats. [7]

The aquarists monitor water temperature, pH, salinity, and oxygen very carefully to ensure health. Feeding also varies based on the species. Most eat diets containing fish, shrimp, squid, crabs, clams, or some other type of seafood.
Amphiuma are primarily carnivorous amphibians that consume crayfish, insects, and other small invertebrates. Similar to many salamanders, the amphiuma has two distinct forms of suction feeding procedures: stationary and strike. [14]

Their elongated bodies and sharp teeth enable them to catch and swallow their prey whole. They are skilled hunters, capable of surprising their prey with lightning-fast strikes.
