Quilt guilds have played an important role transmitting the tradition of quiltmaking, supporting the growing ranks of teachers and lecturers, and affirming a traditional female identity.
Guilds serve as non-profit organizations that promote the craft and art of quiltmaking by passing along the tradition to members and to the wider community. Meetings usually include presentations on quilt history or contemporary techniques along with a member “show-and-tell” and standard business.

The guild was the first place I turned to see if they were of interest to others and they encouraged me to pursue making tools to sell to other quilters. I know for a fact that my quilt guild has had a huge impact on the quality of my quilts, but in fact it has effected my whole life.
