Conflict analysis is the systematic study of the profile, causes, actors, and dynamics of conflict (see Section 2). It helps development, humanitarian and peacebuilding organisations to gain a better understanding of the context in which they work and their role in that context.
This Topic Guide focuses specifically on the systematic approaches and tools for conflict analysis developed for policy and practice (mostly published by international development actors). It does not focus on the many other varied analyses of conflict (found in academic research and beyond).
