19 wrz 2018 · A better option would be “30-48 bits” (aka “Deep Color”), which is 10-16 bits/channel -with anything over 10 bits/channel being overkill for display in my opinion.
7 mar 2023 · When you see analog input DAQ devices from various manufacturers called 12-bit, 16-bit, or 24-bit, it generally just means they have an ADC (analog to digital converter) that returns that many bits. When an ADC chip returns 16 bits, it is probably better than a 12-bit converter, but not always.

22 lis 2023 · The difference between 8 bit, 16 bit, and 32 bit is the number of color values that can be displayed. An 8 bit image can display 16.7 million colors between the Red, Green, and Blue color channels. Meanwhile, a 16 bit image can display 281 trillion colors.
Using 16-bit color will result in some pretty large filesizes, but it’s worth the extra size because with 16-bit processing you’ll significantly reduce your chances of posterization (as seen in the photo below).
