The Tribe of Dan (Hebrew: דָּן, "Judge") was one of the twelve tribes of Israel, according to the Torah. According to the Hebrew Bible, the tribe initially settled in the hill lands bordering Judah and the Philistines but migrated north due to pressure of their enemies, settling at Laish (later known as Dan), near Mount Hermon. 19 kwi 2018 · When reading Revelation 7, specifically the section of the 144,000, the majority of the Israelite tribes are mentioned, all containing 12,000 individuals who will be within this larger group (Rev 7:5-8). Yet, seemingly arbitrarily, the tribes of Dan and Ephraim are left off of the list of tribes.
Ten tribes formed the Kingdom of Israel: the tribes of Reuben, Issachar, Zebulun, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Ephraim, Tribe of Simeon and Manasseh. However it is not clear how Simeon, whose territory was within the Judean territory, could ever have been a part of the northern kingdom.
