Then budget cuts happened or the series was cancelled after production began and they couldn't do the ending properly, hence just quickly rewrote it.
No. You’ve got it sideways. 1) In the reality of the show, what happened was real at at least one level. The final battle had to happen, in at least one plane, for Magne to be free of Thor. 2) Netflix is trying to get you to continue buying their service. That is all.
