27 kwi 2020 · Despite loving great beer I will admit that I have usually had some original Michelob in the refrigerator for the past 30+ years. It is (was) an inexpensive, readily available, mass produced macro lager available at corner gas stations and grocery stores that actually had some flavor.

Michelob was originally introduced in 1896 by Anheuser-Busch, and it was initially brewed from barley, hops, and rice. It was known for its dark, rich flavor and high alcohol content of around 5% ABV. In 2002, the formula for Michelob was changed and the name was changed to Michelob Ultra.
This Original Lager is brewed traditionally, using European noble aroma hop varieties and a 100-percent-malt blend of the finest two-row and caramel malts. It is fermented and aged with our classic lager yeast strain, and cold-matured for balanced crispness. Style: European-style Premium Lager.
