9 paź 2024 · cesium (Cs), chemical element of Group 1 (also called Group Ia) of the periodic table, the alkali metal group, and the first element to be discovered spectroscopically (1860), by German scientists Robert Bunsen and Gustav Kirchhoff, who named it for the unique blue lines of its spectrum (Latin caesius, “sky-blue”).
Caesium (IUPAC spelling; [9] also spelled cesium in American English) is a chemical element; it has symbol Cs and atomic number 55. It is a soft, silvery-golden alkali metal with a melting point of 28.5 °C (83.3 °F; 301.6 K), which makes it one of only five elemental metals that are liquid at or near room temperature .
This is a list of common physical constants and variables, and their notations. Note that bold text indicates that the quantity is a vector.
1. From an improbable source: "Cesium has a single valence electron (unpaired) in the S-shell. In other words, it has an electron that's easy to observe (thus easy to use to tell time)." This HowStuffWorks article has a very lucid explanation of how a cesium clock actually functions. – Robert Harvey.
7 maj 2024 · In this article, we will discuss about various physics symbols, universal constant symbols, and special Greek letter symbols. What are Physics Symbols? Physics Symbols are the notations in Greek, Latin and English alphabets to express different physical quantities.
Various notations and symbols are used to denote different quantities in Physics. The article provides a list of commonly used symbols in physics with their SI units.
