13 kwi 2015 · In some post-Resurrection stories, Jesus seems distinctly physical. In one instance, he asks for something to eat (Lk 24:41). In another, as we have seen, he shows Thomas his wounds: “Put your finger here and see my hands,” he says (Jn 20:27).
Jesus didn't appear exactly like he did here on earth John (who new him personally), says he looked "like the Son of Man". We know it is Jesus based on verse 18, so Jesus in a way resembled what he looked like here on earth. But has obiviously been given a new body that looks amazing.
The apostle Paul is the only New Testament writer that mentions Jesus appeared to over five hundred brethren at one time after his resurrection (1Corinthians 15:6). He does not specify an exact date when this event occurred.
In the 40 days after the Resurrection and before his Ascension, Jesus appears and disappears to people, including his disciples. He also is not recognizable by some of his followers including Mary Magdalene at certain occasions until he identifies himself.
Jesus’ resurrected body was able to ascend into heaven. We read of this in the first chapter of the Book of Acts. It records what happened in this manner: It was not long after he said this that he was taken up into the sky while they were watching, and he disappeared into a cloud.
From what you just read today, you now know that Jesus was “in the midst” of His disciples after His resurrection. They ate with Him, talked to Him, and fellowshipped with Him. Jesus even helped them catch fish!
29 lis 2018 · The first evidence in the book of John that someone who knew Jesus well did not recognize him after his resurrection is Mary in Jn. 20:14-18. At least once more in this chapter, and then again in chapter one it is mentioned that someone (or a group of people) do not recognize Jesus immediately.
