24 wrz 2024 · Where Does Our Recycling Go? Commingled recycling collected by the City of Tacoma is sorted at JMK Fibers. This facility, located in the Tacoma Tideflats, uses both state-of-the art equipment and people to sort items and remove any garbage. Once sorted, the recyclables are baled, sold, and turned into new products.
Oklahoma City offers single-stream, curbside recycling for eligible households. For rural customers, we offer convenient drop-off centers to take recyclable items. We do not offer recycling for apartment complexes or businesses.
Oklahoma City is serviced by four landfills, and each has limited space. By diverting good, recyclable materials away from our landfills and into the recycling stream for reuse, we can help extend the useful life of our landfills, which in turn helps keep our future trash and recycling costs low.
