I am interested in both anecdotes about Al talking to the original artist while getting permission as well as what they've said since they heard the parody.
While Weird Al has had women singing backup in his music over the years, he never had an issue singing parodies of songs originally sung by female vocalists, nor did he seem to have any parodies sung entirely by male guest vocalists either.
