A synonym is a word which means the same or is similar to another word. It doesn't have to be an adjective (describing word). For example: sad = miserable, unhappy (miserable and unhappy are synonyms of sad.) happy = cheerful, amiable (cheerful and amiable are synonyms of happy.) small = tiny, minuscule. big = enormous, giant.
