Deleted the scheduled events, disable the startup entry in task manager and nuke the folder “WaveSor” that lives in the user profile. Reset pdf and html default programs back from WaveBroswer to whatever local browser and pdf viewer you choose. Reboot and check the locations again. Install sysmon and check back after a day or two.
2 lis 2021 · People download it, install it, and then log into their personal accounts which stays on there so the next person has access to their email or files. We've resorted to just taking that PC out of order every time someone sees it and I have to go over and undo it.

Last night I went to leave a website and accidentally clicked on and downloaded Wave Browser (was on paint.net) and while I did not open/execute the file it was downloaded. I immediately deleted it and emptied the recycle bin.
25 sie 2021 · RTR'd to a host with this on it and tried to remove the directory Wavsor Software. I received a notification that access to the path was denied. Access was denied to remove the swupdater.dll. That is the first time I have seen that.

20 maj 2023 · Wave browser is more of a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) than a virus. If you have troubled removing it try scanning with Adwcleaner and Malwarebytes, but I would suggest that even If you believe that you removed it it would be good to still scan your system with HitmanPro, Malwarebytes, Kaspersky virus Removal Tool, ESET online scanner and Emisoft emergency kit.
