This application generates a random medieval city layout of a requested size. The generation method is rather arbitrary, the goal is to produce a nice looking map, not an accurate model of a city. The first version of this generator was created for the monthly challenge #17 of the proceduralgeneration subreddit .
You can view a generated city in 3D by exporting its map as JSON and opening it in City Viewer. Main features: Direct control over what features (city walls, river etc.) are required to be present in a city.

15 kwi 2021 · Now if you open Watabou's City Viewer you can create a 3D version of your medieval city map. Just select 'Load JSON' and City Viewer will automatically create a 3D model of your medieval city. The 3D model includes two animated options.
12 sie 2020 · I am putting this up here because of the very popular Watabou Cities Annual issue (the first for 2020). You can now specify whether your castle is attached to the walls or inside the centre of the town.
