Just wanted to post this for anyone else who is having problems getting their TYT MD-UV380 transceiver (and probably others as well) to talk with their Windows 10 based computer. I've had this problem and have solved it for me, hopefully this will help you all too.

The walkie-talkie, when not connected to a computer, produces a non-standard sound and then the channel number. When turned on, the red indicator also lights up. Tried to connect to other USB sockets.
I'm going to suggest a few things so you can try again and perhaps it works for you and the people you want to use it with. Make sure all contact info is set properly on your phone: phone number should be labeled as iPhone, iCloud/AppleID email address should be labeled as iCloud.
However, more often than not, the problem is just a simple user error (again, no worries!): you likely aren’t holding the push-to-talk (PTT) button down long enough. Remember: it needs to be held down the entire time you’re talking.
I'm afraid activating the Walkie Talkie feature on the desktop app is not available at the moment. There is an existing request for this feature and Official Microsoft response says that their team has this ask under review and will share an update as soon as one is available.
