2 mar 2013 · I have been experimenting with four different pistol powders: Bullseye, Blue Dot, 231 & Unique for four different pistol calibers: 9MM, 10MM, 40 S&W & 45 ACP. I use a Dillon powder measure for progressive loading and a Lee Perfect Powder Measure for manual drop loads.

27 gru 2010 · With a Hornady 230gr FMJ i use 5.5gr of w231, cci primer, 1.255", Cycles well, good accuracy, medium power load. With Powerbond plated 230gr i use 5.3gr of w231, cci primer, 1.245". Softer load, cycles well and gives good accuracy, great range load for practice.
11 wrz 2010 · Check the Hodgdon website. If I remember correctly the for 147 gr. lead bullet the max load of W-231 was 3.5 gr.

21 mar 2006 · I really couldn't see any difference on the pins between a 225 at 900 feet and a 250 at 850fps. If I were to pursue loads of 250 grains in the .45 acp in the future, I would use a slower powder like HS-6 or maybe even Blue Dot. W-231 is a bit fast for max results and speed with the real heavy stuff.
