2 mar 2013 · I have been experimenting with four different pistol powders: Bullseye, Blue Dot, 231 & Unique for four different pistol calibers: 9MM, 10MM, 40 S&W & 45 ACP. I use a Dillon powder measure for progressive loading and a Lee Perfect Powder Measure for manual drop loads.
18 sie 2009 · You'll find widely varying load data, especially for W231 it seems. I've been loading 5.6 gr. of W231 under a 230 gr. bullet (both FMJ and hard cast) for 20+ years with no problems, in various 1911s. No pressure signs and it seems fairly accurate to me.
15 paź 2011 · I've been working up a load using Win 231 and a Hornady 148gr hollow-based wadcutter. Hornady manual shows 2.2 grains min up to 3.5 grains max, but that's still a tiny bit of powder compared to the space in the case. 3.0-3.4 grains seems to be a popular load range for this combination.

Over fifteen years with 231 in 45 colt. 200 gr RNFP, with the load at just below the handbook minimum. Measurable crimp. No primer movement, so a stout enough recipe to keep the primers seated.
5 sty 2013 · I've been reloading 9mm for a while now, and I want to start reloading 45ACP as well. I have Winchester 231 powder, Winchester FMJ 230gr RN bullets, and CCI large pistol primers. My Lee reloading manual 2nd Ed. lists a min/max of 4.8 and 5.1 for W231 with this bullet.
