3 gru 2022 · Clan is a universal term used by Kindred to differentiate between the varying groups of vampires; a clan is determined by their Blood. These are the groups in which they are embraced into by their sire. There are fourteen distinct clans in the modern nights, as well as the Caitiff, the Thin-blooded, and innumerable minor bloodlines.

Clans in V5 don't really have giant organisations or territory that's theirs, as they exist as part of sects - the complexity being the Hecata, who are both clan and sect. In the ttrpg, your character isn't so strictly defined by your clan. Instead, clans are a set of powers, weaknesses, and compulsions, which can all influence but don't necessarily define your character.
Mekhet revolve around Auspex, Gangrel revolve around Protean, Ventrue revolve around Dominate, Daeva revolve around Majesty (or being the only clan with two physicals), and Nosferatu revolve around Nightmare (especially in 2e). The major reason you'd play one clan over the others is their unique in-clan discipline.
