The Vancouver Public Library has a very extensive collection of British Columbia directories, held mainly in the Special Collections Department. The collection dates back to 1860 and comprises many types of directories, including provincial, regional and city directories, telephone directories, criss-cross directories, social registers and more.
The VPL map collection includes maps and atlases of every description: from street maps of present-day Vancouver to historical atlases of ancient Rome, from bathymetric maps of the ocean floor to geological maps of Jupiter's moons.
