Additionally, I had to downgrade several .DLL files to get Java 17 working, which results in several missing classes (breaks multiplayer and potentially other things). I did have a go with 1.18Pre1, and it works perfectly with Java 16.

Multi Mc works for me and latest version of Java 8 could still install. Any version below 1.17 should work
