3 mar 2011 · Once you've added your Shared Folders in Settings of your Windows VM, they should appear. If they not, you need to install Virtual Guest Additions on your virtual machine, by selecting Insert Guest Additions CD Image from the Devices menu (on your running VM window).

I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 (guest) on Windows 7 (host) with the guest additions installed. I have an auto-mount folder that maps to my D: drive on the host which I can access using sudo ls /media/sf_D_DRIVE - however, even when my user (ross) is a member of the vboxsf group I get a permission denied error when attempting to explore it.
8 kwi 2012 · To share folders set them up to be shared. Consider the permissions. Note that the host file permissions are transient. IOW if you can't write to file on host, the guest can't either. After setting up the file to be shared create a destination if you don't have one: mkdir -p ~/destination.
I have problem with accessing the shared folder. My host OS is Windows 7 Enterprise Edition SP1, and the guest OS is Ubuntu Linux 10.04 Desktop Version. I'm using Virtual Box 4.2.10, and I have installed VBox guest add-on and Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack.
