VINE is the nation’s leading victim notification network. It allows survivors, victims of crime, and other concerned citizens to access timely and reliable information about offenders or criminal cases in U.S. jails and prisons.
Virginia Victim Information and Notification Everyday is an automated service that allows people affected by crime to locate an offender in jail, and receive notifications about any changes in custody status. This free, anonymous service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by phone, internet or mobile app.
Explanation of the incarceration, probation, parole, and re-entry processes. We serve as a guide for victims during the post-sentencing phase of the Virginia criminal justice system. We provide information about inmate intake, classification, time calculation, and release planning.
This service is provided to assist Victims of Crime who have a right to know about their offender’s custody status. Through a recent enhancement, VINELink, the online version of VINE, will receive offender photos through an agency’s booking system and display them on the Web interface.
