You can request to change your credit limit (increase or decrease) by completing our online form. If you're requesting a credit limit increase, you need to have had your card for 6 months, have received your seventh statement and you've not applied within the last 6 months.
If you've used the card regularly, kept on top of repayments and not maxed it out, you may be able to get the limit increased after 6 months or so. Requesting a rise. If you feel like you might need some more credit, perhaps to make a large purchase or go on holiday, you might want to request a higher credit limit.
However, each bank or building society has its own limits for Faster Payments which can vary from time to time. If you need to make a payment over the limit, or if you need to guarantee same day payment, you should consider using CHAPS (fee applicable, please contact your Store).
If you’re happy to continue with your application, then we’ll assess your credit limit every six months to see if it can be increased. You’ll also be able to use any available credit you have to complete money or balance transfers, which you can do in the Virgin Money Credit Card app.
You have the right to withdraw from your agreement within 14 days from the day after you receive your card. If you’re happy to go ahead with your application, you can request a credit limit increase once you’ve had your card for a minimum of 6 months.
