I just bought a new RAV 4 Prime which does not have a factory alarm. All of my previous cars since 1990 had Viper alarms with remote start installed, and my past few even had the Smart Start with GPS module which has proven valuable to me on numerous occasions.
I'm of the opinion that aftermarket alarm systems are not worth it at all to begin with. I have personally removed one Viper setup (in my 1998 Impreza) and had a mechanic remove another Viper (in my 2000 Tahoe) that was randomly chirping for no reason.
