30 paź 2023 · The vertebral arteries are the main source of blood to the spinal cord. However, the following arteries branch from the vertebral arteries to directly supply the spinal cord itself: one anterior spinal artery; two posterior spinal arteries; anterior and posterior radicular arteries; arterial vasocorona (anastomose between the spinal arteries)
At the bottom of the cord, the anterior spinal atery is typically connected to posterior spinal arteries (T) via what paired arteries (Z) which go by many names (such as rami cruciantes), forming a kind of arterial basket (see above diagram, and below for angio images).
The IVVP comprises anterior and posterior longitudinal veins with numerous lateral and transverse anastomotic connections. The anterior longitudinal veins are attached to the vertebral bodies by the basivertebral veins and pressed against the vertebral wall by the posterior longitudinal ligament . Their location is sensu stricto, not epidural.
3 lis 2023 · The vertebral vein is a paired vessel found in the transverse foramina of the cervical vertebrae on either side of the neck. It arises at the level of the sixth cervical vertebra from a venous plexus that surrounds the vertebral artery and travels as far as the brachiocephalic veins .
26 lut 2019 · They’re the primary arteries supplying blood to the brain. Vertebral. Formed off of the subclavian arteries, these paired arteries travel up the neck, where they also supply blood to the...
At each cervical level, the vertebral artery sends branches to the surrounding musculature via the anterior spinal arteries. The vertebral artery may be divided into four parts: The prevertebral part; V1 segment (preforaminal) runs upward and backward between the Longus colli and the Scalenus anterior.
