11 cze 2023 · The $35.00 activation fee and the taxes for the device are separate charges. Our free devices are credited monthly, so as long as you qualified for the promotion, you'll see a credit to offset the charge.
You will not pay the $35 fee from Verizon however Apple will charge $30 more so they get you either way. When you transfer to the new phone it’s not an upgrade activation, it’s just transferring to another device which you can do as often as you want without fees.
If you want to avoid the $40 upgrade fee then buy the SIM free model. But unlocked model (sim free). Move SIM card from old iPhone to new iPhone. The activation fee from Verizon for in store purchase and setup is $40, online purchases are $20.

18 kwi 2024 · Verizon charges a $35 activation fee for new lines, phone upgrades, and bringing your own device. The fee is only $20 if you activate online. Activation fees are mostly a money grab by carriers and don‘t reflect their actual costs for setting up service.
