Velvet tango room is an unassuming, unique, jazz cocktail bar. My friends and I came on a Friday night, and were able to be seated at the high tops without a reservation. I really love how they have a satisfaction guaranteed policy, to encourage patrons to branch out and try more cocktails.

Velvet Tango Room (VTR) is the best cocktail bar in Cleveland. As an old speakeasy, dimly lit and intimate, it has got a lot of character, perfect for date night. The prices are steep (unless you make it to happy hour) but the skilled and devoted bartenders will help you find a a memorable drink that will make the price worth it.

The owner is warm and charming and has a show of presenting bananas foster with flambe. There is a fireplace and EXCELLENT musicians in the house. Definitely, special occasion -like Chez Francoise in Vermillion. It takes a lot to pull off magic and the Velvet Tango Room succeeds.
