I had a vanishing twin with my first pregnancy. 2 sacks and yolk sacs detected but you could not see the other heartbeat yet. That was at 5 weeks at the fertility clinic (even though ended up happening naturally). At 8 weeks when I saw my regular OB it was clear the 2nd sack wasn’t developed.
I was diagnosed with vanishing twin syndrome, one of the embryos failed to continue its development resulting in a partial miscarriage. The second baby was as healthy as can be and measuring perfectly at 2 months and 3 days with a healthy heart rate of 170bpm!

There were two implanted sacs, but one had a healthy baby with a heartbeat and the other was empty. My OB said it happened with about 35% of twins and many go undetected... 3 paź 2024 · Is there a possibility the doctor is wrong? Could baby B be hiding partially behind baby A? Or should I just accept the doctors words and take it for vanishing twin? I have so many conflicting thoughts and feelings with this and I feel like I don’t want to give up hope on baby B.
