5 lip 2020 · Get to a certain level in vanilla Oblivion, and every man and his dog wears Ebony, Elven, Glass, and even Daedric armor. No more—the loot system has been exhaustively overhauled. The items carried by NPCs and in loot are now capped at a certain level appropriate to the character and location.
Play vanilla on the first playthrough, or just do some graphics/shader mods to make the game look at little better for the first run (part of the charm of the game is the goofy graphics). If you want to avoid the bugs use the unofficial patch but again the wacky bugs make Oblivion Oblivion.

Vanilla is definitely fun as far as quality of the game. The only mod I would ever utilize would maybe be graphics overhaul. So yes, vanilla is worth it.

I prefer vanilla oblivion over modded Skyrim. The dungeons have depth and the side quests are the best I’ve ever played. It’s worth playing for the dark brotherhood quests alone.
