The Valles Caldera National Preserve was established in 2000 to protect and manage nearly 89,000 acres (36,000 ha) of wildlands in northern New Mexico that are rich in natural resources and biodiversity. To support the management and sustainability of the preserve’s ecosystems, a map of current vegetation was developed and is presented here.
