There is a blueprint for each test. Practice Items are available for use by teachers, parents, and students in Virginia. They serve as examples of the types of online test items, including technology-enhanced items (TEI), that are presented to students during an online state assessment.
Blueprints for SOL tests are available on SOL resource tables for: English; Mathematics; Science; History/Social Science; Released SOL Test Items. VDOE releases sample sets of SOL tests that were administered during a previous test administration.

Test Blueprint. Much like the blueprint for a building, a test blueprint serves as a guide for test construction. The blueprint indicates the content areas that will be addressed by the test and the number of items that will be included by content area and for the test as a whole.
