1 mar 2024 · Once you’ve completed the steps above, it’s time to file your claim. To file your VA travel pay claim, you’ll need to log in to your Veteran Travel Claim Entry account as before. From there, you’ll submit your receipts and mileage. Keep in mind that you must submit a claim within 30 days of the expense to be eligible for reimbursement.

We use Bing Maps to calculate your mileage, based on the fastest and shortest route from your home to the closest VA or authorized non-VA health facility that can provide the care you need. This distance is often called “door to door.”
