The UTMB PA Program teaches a Gross Anatomy course with a full cadaver lab. Thanks to UTMB’s Willed Body program, you will learn the complicated and intricate structures of the human body in a respectful and uniquely hands-on way.
Conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery, and write prescriptions. Specialize in areas like emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, etc. after completing a core group of educational requirements.
Program Goals. Upon completion of the program, students are awarded a master's degree, Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), and may sit for the national certifying examination to achieve licensure and certification.
