Coaches must be current USA Judo Certified Coaches to receive coaching credentials at all USA Judo sanctioned events, including local, regional and national tournaments. Learn more about credentials and the dress code for national events.
A current Heads-Up online certification - for all Dan (black belt) ranks. Promotions are done in accordance with USJA's National Promotion Board: Ranks of 4th and 5th Dan are reviewed by a sub-committee of the Promotion Board. Ranks of 6th Dan and above are decided on during the Promotion Board's quarterly conference calls held each new quarter.
USJF National Coach Certification: Individuals with NO previous coach certifications from USJF, USJA, USA Judo. Fees: Certification Fee: $100.00; Valid: Your certification is valid for 2 years from date of issuance.
All individuals wishing to work in the USA Judo Development Committee's activities as coaches must make application as a coach to the Coach Development and Education Subcommittee. Applicant's experiences are reviewed and used as a basis for classification according to the system as outlined below.
