Plates that I would totally get would be Duritium Level III+ poly plates or DFNDR III+ poly plates and Hoplite’s but they’re too expensive. I’ve considered Hesco’s, Steel Ops plates, AR500 Level VI plates, Tactical Scorpion Gear poly plates, and Spartan Armor plates.
For lightweight plates that also stop M855A1, your best bet is to just get level IV. There are some special threat or III+ plates that can stop it, but you honestly don't know unless you see testing documents. With level IV, the m2ap is a more powerful round than the A1, so you know it'll stop it.
You’ll want something that’s rated level 3+ or RF2, or level 4. Level 3 is acceptable as well as long as it is made with a ceramic core and is rated for M855. Highcom, Hoplite (LTC), and RMA are among the most reliable armor brands you can go with.
