20 wrz 2024 · So I decided to go about a software update, as I don't believe the car has ever had one. However when I go to BMW.com/update, there is no place on the page to enter a VIN or download any sort of update to USB that from my research was the way to do so.

Having searched everywhere (I think) without success I finally gained the UPD1008 file by making up VIN numbers until the BMW downloads site would give it to me. https://static.bmw.com/content/dam/b...n/UPD01008.bin
Make sure your USB drive is formatted FAT32, copy the update file UPD01008.bin to the root of the USB drive (not in a directory). Plug the USB drive into the console USB (under armrest, not glovebox). From your iDrive menu browse to Settings > Software update > Update software.
