Building Plans. These building and facility plans were developed over many years by engineers at Land Grant Universities. They provide conceptual information that is excellent for planning purposes. An abbreviated description of each plan is provided in each category listing of plans.
The University of Tennessee Extension maintains a collection of over 300 building and equipment plans, and all are now available in electronic format for download. The plans are primarily intended for use in Tennessee, but many are appropriate for other locations as well.

The 4 digit plan numbers (e.g. 5170) are plans prepared through the USDA Cooperative Farm Building Plan Exchange. Most of these plans can be downloaded, viewed & printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. To download, view, and print using Adobe Acrobat Reader, click on the linked plan number.
The USDA plans generally originated at Land Grant Institutions across the country and were submitted to the Cooperative Farm Building Plan Exchange where they were edited and distributed to all states for use in their Extension education programs.
