28 wrz 2021 · USB, CD-ROM, SD card device not recognized in windows 7, 8 or 10 fixed by reinstalling drivers, performing a hard reboot, and changing the inf file of USB.
25 maj 2013 · Windows 7 cannot install drivers for my USB devices. Whenever I plug any of my USB devices, windows is now unable to install the device. It shows the installing driver icon in the notification area and finally says failed. The devices shows up in device manager with an exclamation mark to it.
28 kwi 2013 · Since you have only tried disabling and re-enabling the USB controllers, let us try to update the chipset drivers as a last resort and see if that helps. Log-in to the computer manufacturer’s website, download the latest chipset drivers and update them.

Apparently this has nothing to do with a specific USB device driver. I tried uninstall, reinstall, update the USB host controllers drivers, and rebooted various times. I also updated the EMI driver out of despair. Nothing worked. What worked: Try to sort things out, starting from inspecting the drivers loaded.
