14 kwi 2002 · In my experience with my ft-2900r (same process) just melting the solder is usually enough to get it to stop bridging between the 2 halves. Worst case is that you'll have to get some desoldering braid (cheaply obtained from radio shack) and use it to remove some of the solder on the pad which will remove the bridge.
I got the Valley Enterprises RPC-YM6-UF FTDI based USB cable, intended for the FT-1900. I tried hooking it up and downloading with CHIRP.
25 sie 2010 · You can get a really good programming package at FTB1900 Programming for $15 and a USB cable will run about another $20. I have the FT-7900 with about 400 of the 1000 channels filled. I'd still be trying to enter everything if I was doing it by hand.

9 kwi 2023 · I'm currently using VarAC with VARA FM mode on my Yaesu FT-991A, connecting to the radio with just one USB cable. If you know of a more efficient setup or have any suggestions, please share your insights.
