UNC is proud to offer Academic Scholarships to a small number of outstanding students each year. For most scholarships, no additional application materials are necessary and all admitted students are considered just by applying for admission.
If you’ve taken any college coursework after graduating from high school, you’ll apply to Carolina as a transfer student. Around 900 transfer students choose Carolina each year, and our transfer students travel many roads to get here.

UNC admits around 900 transfer students every year, and we have roughly 2,500 active transfer students every fall. These individuals bring a powerful resilience and a unique perspective to our campus community, and we are happy to support them every step of the way!

If you’re looking for transfer-specific resources: Transfer Student Mentors (Updates and more info to come) Tau Sigma National Honor Society. Transfer students who earn a 3.5 gpa in their first term (and complete at least 12 credit hours) are eligible to join the national honor society.
Grant information for current UNC students. Scholarships for continuing undergraduate students typically come from departments, there are travel opportunity scholarships such as the Phillips travel scholarship.
