The Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center (ESJ) features thirteen general purpose classrooms and nine state-of-the art chemistry teaching labs, complimented by a wide variety of informal collaborative learning and study spaces throughout the building.
At least two weeks' notice is required to reserve space. ESJ does not reserve space for weekly group meetings or small ad-hoc functions. If your events meets the criteria of a large conference or symposium, you may fill out ESJ's event form to enquire about availability.
Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center (ESJ) supports academic classes, symposiums, lectures and meetings. The wide range of spaces can accommodate small gatherings as well as large lectures, and presentations.
Unique spaces for poster sessions and small gatherings to compliment an academic event already scheduled in the building. ESJ’s general spaces are not available for office parties or sit-down meals. Please email esj@umd.edu for more information.

C&VS will help coordinate your event in ESJ. Their pricing will be determined by the extent of their involvement and size and scope of your event. Since there is no Classroom Support on weekends, it is recommended you hire at least one student technician. $25/hour, 8-hour minimum.
